Our History

The Egyptian Marine Supply & Contracting Co.

is an Egyptian shareholding company, headquartered in 2 Horreya Road – Alexandria, established in 1962 by virtue of a decree

Mr. President of the Republic No. 1422 of 1962 Then, in 1991, with the issuance of Law 203 of 1991, it was transformed into a public business sector company affiliated with the Holding Company for Maritime Transport

As part of the implementation of the Egyptian government’s privatization program, the Union of Shareholding Workers of the Egyptian Company for Supplies and Maritime Works was established pursuant to Decision of the Head of the Capital Market Authority No. 122 of 1994, where the Extraordinary General Assembly of the Maritime Transport Holding Company agreed in its meeting on 31/12/1997 to sell a percentage of 50.3% of the shares of the Egyptian Company for Supplies and Marine Works owned by the Holding Company to the Union of Shareholders Workers of the Egyptian Company for Supplies and Marine Works

This and since the sale of this percentage of the shares of the company owned by the Holding Company resulted in its ownership in the shares of the Egyptian Company for Supplies and Maritime Works decreased to less than 51%, which resulted in the company leaving the scope of the provisions of the Business Sector Companies Law No. 203 of 1991 and being subject to the provisions of the Shareholding Companies Law No. 159 of 1981

Therefore, the Extraordinary General Assembly of the company was held on 5/11/1998 and took a decision to convert the company from working according to the provisions of Law No. 203 of 1991 to working with the provisions of Law No. 159 of 1981
